“I really like camp because you always have fun. Even when working hard you’re still having a good time. The clinicians are always fun to be around, and fun to talk to. I’ve been attending this camp for years and cannot wait to attend the next one”

Orting High School

20 years of Elite Wrestling Training!

Established in 2005, the South Sound Wrestling Camp is one of the longest-running annual youth wrestling camps in Washington. Originally held at Bethel High School, the camp relocated to Orting in 2010. Over the last 17 years, hundreds of state medalists and champions have had the opportunity to train with us, and some have even gone on to become college All-Americans and National Champions.

Our coaching staff, comprised of some of the best in the state and nation, includes many former campers who are passionate about giving back to the wrestling community. This five-day event is designed to develop your wrestling skills to the maximum by teaching proper techniques, training methods, and goal-setting for the sport. On Wednesday, there will be a round-robin competition, and we'll cover all aspects of wrestling, including takedowns, reversals, escapes, riding, and pinning. Emphasis will be placed on scoring from the top and escaping from the bottom.

Our camp staff also includes college coaches who will be available for a Q&A session open to parents and wrestlers. This is important to help prepare young student-athletes for success in both wrestling and life. The camp is designed for wrestlers of all ages and skill levels, and we have breakout sessions for girls' wrestling and big guy wrestling to cater to unique needs. We strive to make this the best commuter camp in the Northwest.

The full-day camp is intense, so we advise that you come in shape and ready to work hard. Our goal is to prepare wrestlers to learn, set goals, plan, and achieve success in the upcoming 2024-2025 season."

This camp is designed for all ages, grades k-12 and all levels from rookies to state champs.  Any wrestler male or female with the desire to improve their skill level should attend.  Groups are broken out based on age, size, and skill level.
